Canoeing
Overview
A canoe is the relaxed, roomy way onto the water. You sit or kneel high in an open boat and paddle with a single blade, and there is space for a friend, a dog or a week's worth of camping kit. It is the classic choice for gentle rivers, lakes and proper expeditions.
The basics come quickly on calm water, and the social side is a big part of the appeal, since two people can paddle and natter at the same time. From there you can build into moving water and longer journeys.
The instructors on adventuro run canoe tasters, journeys and skills sessions. Get your paddle strokes sorted early and steering stops being an argument with the boat.
