Tajikistan is a mountainous Central Asian country built around the Pamirs and the Fann Mountains. The Pamir Highway, Wakhan Valley, Fann lake treks and 7,000 m peaks such as Ismoil Somoni and Lenin draw serious high-altitude trekkers.
