Sessions are usually spread across a half-day to two days depending on the centre and craft. No strict prior certificate is required, though many students arrive after Paddle Start Award or an equivalent taster. Your coach still demonstrates techniques, but you practise making small decisions yourself.
Discover works in kayak, canoe, SUP, bell boat or raft. You get wet practising rescues and recoveries. That is not a failure; everyone on the course has been there. By the end you should be a more skilled, more independent paddler ready for Paddle Explore Award or a discipline-specific Personal Performance Award.
Pick a Delivery Centre on adventuro that offers the craft you want to pursue. Kayak, canoe and SUP all share safety fundamentals even when the strokes feel different on day one.
